FAQ's

What is BOND Action all about?

BOND Action is a cultural action organization that is totally separate from BOND, legally. It has been created by separating out of BOND those activities which constitute lobbying under the IRS code so that they can be expanded in scope. It exists to educate, motivate, and rally Americans--especially black Americans--to greater involvement in the moral, cultural and political issues that threaten our great country.FAQS

BOND Action gives Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and the BOND Action team much greater freedom to communicate our views, and allow us to ask our friends to take specific actions such as calling, faxing, or emailing public officials, or participating in public events and protest, to pass crucial, pro-family legislation or otherwise move the public debate. Decent Americans have been far too passive in the public square, but by working together we can and must rebuild America.

Why do you need a separate organization?

Because gifts to BOND are tax deductible, the Internal Revenue Service severely limits its involvement in certain issues. Speaking for BOND, Rev. Peterson and other spokesmen can only take stands on ballot measures, lobby legislative bodies, and speak about political candidates to a limited extent. But BOND Action is formed under IRS section 501 (c) (4), and is free of these restrictions. It allows us to communicate freely on issues that affect fathers, families and positive race relations.

How is BOND affected?

BOND continues to offer its unique and effective programs and services, including regularly scheduled meetings for men and women, Sunday Services, counseling, mentoring, tutoring, workshops, THE BOND HOME (for young men), After School Character Building Program, Entrepreneur Program and Financial Literacy Program; whereas BOND Action will separate out of BOND those activities which constitute lobbying under the IRS code so that they can be expanded in scope.

How can I be part of BOND Action?

If you strongly believe in the family, traditional moral values, and positive, honest race relations, we are asking you to become a member of BOND Action. We need your physical, spiritual, and financial support as we work together to stand up for our families, our communities, and our great nation.

What benefit will I receive for my participation?

Most importantly, you will know that you are at the forefront of the movement to preserve fathers, families, positive and honest race relations, and America itself. In addition, you will receive periodic updates on family and cultural issues, so that you can stay informed and active. You will also receive occasional specific voting recommendations on ballot measures and invitations to sign on to petitions to enact positive change.

Are gifts to BOND Action tax deductible?

No. Because of its political and lobbying activities, contributions to BOND Action are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes, but are confidential.

What is the difference between BOND (Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny) and BOND Action?

BOND is a nonprofit, religious organization which has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) organization eligible to receive charitable contributions and advance interests that nonprofit religious organizations traditionally advance on behalf of their constituents.

BOND Action is a distinct and separate legal entity which engages in education and lobbying activities. It is a pending 501 (c) (4) nonprofit organization. Contributions can be made to this organization, however, they are NOT tax deductible.
